Personal Branding & Social Recruiting Platform, FirstDialog, Launches in Private Alpha
Are you ready to take your resume and online branding to an even more socially-savvy place? Well I hope so, because Vunovate Media just launched FirstDialog, the world’s first online personal branding and social recruitment platform for professionals. For those of you thinking this is just a LinkedIn wannabe, I’m going to ask you to trust me and keep reading.
FirstDialog aims to take the usual resume process and add a social and multimedia twist. This small startup is aiming to raise the bar across the online resume culture. The –currently free—platform allows job seekers to add rich media to their resume, verify credentials, showcase skills assessments and showcase all of this in a socially-driven platform.
So what does that really mean?
FirstDialog aims to be the future of resume building and personal branding online. In the past two years the online job search process has been slowly but surely integrating more socially-aligned intentions and functionality. Recently we have
seen some heavy hitters like SimplyHired take a step in the social direction.
Meanwhile as the job boards evolve we have seen little movement in the resume sector. Posting your resume online is still dicey at best. We have yet to see a resume site evolve to fit this socially-friendly landscape and to top it all off we are still combating huge privacy concerns. This all leaves online job seekers with few options when it comes to sprucing up their resume and vamping up their personal brand online.
Powerful, multimedia presentations through secure video hosting and streaming
Intuitive, online video editor that allows users to create a professional-quality video or multimedia presentation of their achievements
Extensive set of rich, web based and SEO optimized resume templates
Document showcase with secure document upload and sharing
Credential verification of professional and educational information through a global verification partner
Extensive security and privacy mechanisms, giving users total privacy control including 256 bit SSL and 128 bit passkey level access control
Easy to remember unique short URL
Professional networking and a rich set to features allowing you to share of job news, industry news, one click job referrals, and more
Deep analytics to track resume delivery, views, and other statistics
Smart follow-up mechanism to maintain constant communication with prospective employers
After running through that list I was seriously impressed and went over to the site to check things out. Apparently FirstDialog is the brain child of two young entrepreneurs—Nasr Khan and Amit Koshal. The founders outline a sincere dedication to helping online job seekers really take their personal branding to a new and improved level, and I was really impressed with the focus they exuded when it comes to privacy features and safeties.
I am definitely excited to see how this evolves. The resume world has been begging for a platform like for a while now, and I have a feeling once FirstDialog goes public they will see a great deal of support from both job seekers and hiring managers. Not only does the platform give the job seeker an advantage in this competitive climate but it provides hiring managers a destination to seek out top-notch candidates.
Good stuff all around. Will keep you posted on what else we hear as FirstDialog grows. As of right now it is private alpha. So you can sign up here for an invitation. As they continue to refine the platform and prepare for launch they will begin to shoot out invites and open the flood gates. If you are currently looking for a job you should definitely get in on this…I have a feeling this is going to be big. Not to mention the price point right now is free but as we all know well enough in this industry—it doesn’t always stay that free ;)

Sure I agree with William
Sure I agree with William Arruda that in today’s highly competitive and stiffening job market, professionals need to stand out from the crowd and this process starts with a resume. Traditional resumes have several limitations: they become stale and out of date, lack detailed qualifying and quantifiable information, cannot be tracked for delivery, cannot showcase documents, credentials, work samples or achievements, provide little or no control over its access, or get buried in the recipient’s spam filter. Moreover, traditional resumes provide very little help in creating a memorable first impression for the job candidate.
FirstDialog addresses these problems by offering effective tools for building and maintaining a strong and memorable online personal brand and helping them stand out of the crowd. Still, I am a bit confused that this platform is created in India. Though I know that the company is self funded and awarded with startup grant from MSME (Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises).
Too many job seekers don't
Too many job seekers don't understand they are in the sales business when trying to find a job. This looks like a terrific tool. Thanks.
