Most Complete Job Resource Out There (Plus One)

You know how they say the sign of a good loser is if they can congratulate the winner? Well this post is the web equivalent of that.   Recently GraduateDegreeBlog.com came out with an incredibly comprehensive list of job search sites and resources.

We were not on it. Sad, sad, I know.

But that will not stop me from sharing with my readers such an amazingly helpful list. It covers not only the big brand job search sites, but also spotlights some great communities and resources you should atleast be aware of when seeking out your next job.

The top three communities mentioned were Ryze, Tribe and Layoffspace. All of which focus on growing your contact list, while sharing stories with others in the same place you are. We all know how lonely the job search process can be, and these three communities aim at helping each of us feel just a little less alone.  Good stuff.

You all know the big brand job search sites, but here are a few smaller guys they mentioned…AGAIN I AM NOT MAD THEY DIDN’T MENTION US... (cough) (cough)…anyway, here they are – 411jobs, Climber, Justposted, and Ziki. They even mentioned a site called, NotchUp.com, which apparently pays you to interview? Hmmm I’m skeptical of this, but will check out and post a review shortly.

In addition to the job search sites, they also note a number of resume & cover letter advice-giving sites. Most of which we have covered for you already, but I was happy to see some new names up there, like Resolio, a site that helps get your resume “online-ready.” Unfortunately, when I went to the site it was down for maintenance. Hopefully they will get on that. Either way I was happy to see people are coming around to our sneaky suspicion that the job search process HAS MOVED ONLINE.

Of course, the list wouldn’t be complete unless they gave the top salary resources out there. Let’s be honest money matters. Be sure to check out sites like payscale.com and salaryscout.com to guarantee you aren’t getting shortchanged in your current job or the next one!

Those are some highlights of the list, but seriously, go visit them and check it out. Maybe even bookmark it as a future resource. If you have some extra time feel free to contact them here and mention how ridiculous it is we didn’t make the list…I am going to go do that myself right now. Clearly they meant to add a Plus one a.k.a. The Online Beat. Unbelievable.
