Are you looking for a fun job? Maybe you are hoping to find a part-time job that keeps you interested and smiling…or maybe you are looking for a seasonal job that can keep you entertained all summer or all winter. Either way, finding a fun job is so important. No one wants to wake up every day and dread going to work. When you are ready to find a new job, it’s usually because you realize you aren’t enjoying your current one. So where should you look? How will you know if a job is going to be a good one before you apply?

One thing every jobseeker must do is research the company. What is the work culture like? Does the boss of the company value fun things and job perks? You need to be sure the job culture meshes well with your personality. Are you a social person? Do you like working in teams and stuff like that? By taking the time to research a company before applying to a job listing, you are saving yourself the disappointment of ultimately turning down the job later on, or even worse—taking the job and being miserable.

After researching the company, take the time to see what the current employees are like. When you visit the company, be sure to see what the energy is like. Are people smiling and laughing? Are they all working hard and enjoying their job? Usually you can tell if a job is going to be fun just by seeing what others think of the job they are doing. It’s a great way to get an insider’s look at the position you are applying for.

Lastly, be sure to ask the hiring manager what other people say about the company. Be frank with them and ask them if they like their job. How long have they worked there? Is there high turnover at the company? By seeing that people like their jobs and are sticking with the company over multiple years you get a good sense of how much you will enjoy or not enjoy working at the company.
