Finding the right job can be a chore. Not only do you have to scour multiple online job search sites but you have to keep an eye and ear out for anyone that may be hiring for the job you want. So how do you find out who is hiring? How do you know when your favorite companies are hiring in your industry and department of choice? There are a few options. First off is to refine your search. Be sure to actually search the phrases like recent job openings and find newest and more recent job openings in addition to whatever company you are looking to work in, or industry for that matter. When you refine your search to include only words that leave you with the more recent job listings, you are far more likely to find them before someone else fills them. Secondly, you can search for local job listings through classifieds and other online job listings. Rather than just research open jobs through search engines, go the extra step to check weekly and monthly listings. These work positions tend to be more recent and fresh as compared to some of the listings you would find in a job search engine. No one likes to spend time looking for a job just to find out that another candidate has already been hired to fill it. Lastly, just be sure that you are checking in with the HR departments of the companies you really want to be a part of. Regularly, check their websites and see if they have added any new positions that interest you. Send emails occasionally and check-in to see if they are planning on building out the department you are interested in. It’s important to be on their radar without annoying them. It shows you are very interested in working at the company but also shows your professionalism. |
